Joe Perry Talks About New Aerosmith Record
In a recent interview with The Morning Call, Aerosmith guitarist Joe Perry has promised that the band’s new record will have energy in abundance.
He said that illness had played a major role in delaying the record as both Steve Tyler and Perry have spent time in hospital. Other commitments such as touring and timing schedules with the individual members have also contributed to the delay.
On the sound of the new record Perry said: “I think that’s what people miss the most now is hearing a record that actually has that energy and that texture that early records had. I mean, obviously you can’t go back and remake ‘Get Your Wings’, that’s just not possible. But you could take some of that energy.”
Aerosmith will be on the road in the US with ZZ Top this summer.
