It’s Rossi And Parfitt OBE!
Congratulations to Status Quo pair Francis Rossi and Rick Parfitt, who receive OBEs in the New Year’s Honours List.
Both get it for services to music and for their charitable work.
Parfitt commented: “To be perfectly honest with all the hard work we have put in over the years I accept it graciously”.
“You start off rebellious, a teenager in a band,” added Rossi, ” but you end up being part of the establishment.”
Much deserved congratulations to both. Although I stopped being a fan when they changed musical direction in the late ’70s they were the first band I saw live (3 consecutive nights actually!) which lead me to my love of classic rock. Surely knighthoods await? Oh, and Happy New Year to all at CR and fellow readers.
