I was too busy watching the video to pay much attention to the song, and it really shouldn't be like that. Quite enjoyed it when I listened again. :)

Oh stop moaning you lot, there's nothing wrong with it. A perfectly decent song that sounds like Iron Maiden and no one else. What were you expecting Beethoven's 10th?

@ Gary

You do have a very good point, but repetition is very common in many of Iron Maiden songs, some of which are considered to be some of their best work. The chorus "Brave New World" was extremely repetitive, and there were fewer key changes, but I've still heard people cite it as one of their all-time favourites. There are also tracks like "The Evil That Men Do" and "Seventh Son of a Seventh Son", both having just one-sentence choruses. "For the Greater Good of God" was very repetitive, but it was still possibly the best track on "A Matter of Life and Death". "Afraid to Shoot Strangers" repeats the four words of the title over and over towards the end of the song. "No More Lies" is repetitive, "Lightning Strikes Twice" is repetitive, and even "Run to the Hills" is a little repetitive (but to a lesser degree).

You're fully entitled to your opinion, and I'm not going to try and change it because even I would much rather a more interesting chorus in "The Final Frontier" (as well as some more interesting choruses in many other Maiden tunes), but all I'm saying is that it's nothing new and it's not an issue on this song exclusively.

So there's been a couple of comments to my post. To razor: Isn't it funny when I critizise a film, nobody asks "how many millions have you made by directing/producing a film?" I mean it was an opinion. I have been listening to rock music for about 30 years and I know some simple rules of a bad chorus. E.g. don't just repeat a word/sentence many times. I mean how hard is it to write something else? It really worries me, these two songs they have released now are propably the best songs on the album. And I can say "Dance Of Death" was crap, "A Matter Of Life And Death" was rather good.

I don't think there is anything wrong with Gary's assertion over repetitive choruses. Ever since Virtual XI Maiden have, in my opinion, had a problem with this. The Angel & The Gambler was the prime example on that CD, but Lightening Strikes Twice & Don't Talk To Strangers, also had a fair amount of repetition in them as well. Seems to have become a recurring theme through the three re-union albums.

Just because Gary hasn't sold millions of records doesn't mean he can't have an opinion, good or bad, on how he thinks a song is.

As it is I haven't as such heard this song, going to wait until I get the CD in order to listen to it. I've enjoyed pretty much all Maiden's albums, so am sure I'll get something out of this one, even if it turns out not to be the best they've ever released.

Really enjoyed the last 3 albums with the 'new' line-up, but based on the two new songs, I think the steam may have ran out. Seem pretty bland. Hope I'm wrong though, awesome live band and can't deny they're already legends!
