Iron Maiden Finish New Album

Iron Maiden have finished recording their new album.

It’s been recorded at Compass Point Studios in Nassau. Says producer Kevin Shirley: “There’s still work to do, but the band portion is complete and in the can, so to speak.”

No release date or title have yet been confirmed, but Maiden will be back in live action in the UK on August 1, when they headline the last night of the Sonisphere Festival at Knebworth Park.

We can safely assume that the album will be released this summer, to coincide with the Sonisphere appearance.

I’m looking forward to the new album and tour!!

I predict it will be released in the 2nd half of the year.

I think the summer shows will be a best of type set or something to coincide with a classic DVD release, and then they will release the album around September and do an album tour which will include a UK tour in the first half of 2011.

Similar to what they did with the Dance Of Death album.

“Similar to what they did with the Dance Of Death album.”

As long as it’s as good as DoD I dont mind.

This will be an interesting test for Maiden, hot of the heals of winning a Brit Award last year and Flight 666, they could have another new high point. And surely their last, didn’t Steve Harris say 15 would be their last?

So excited I could crack one out!! In fact, while I’m here…..

Great news, having seen them on every tour since 1999 Ed Hunter plus variously from 1987 through 1996, I thought the best of shows coinciding with the DVD histories were excellent shows and I hope the next one covers the “Maiden England” to the “Raising Hell” era. The Matter of Life and Death tour when they played the entire cd was very refreshing for a long time Maiden concert goer. Do it with this new cd.

Could we have another chance to see the back in time set though? They only did Twickenham. I worry about the Sonisphere show because I saw them at Download a few years back and there were too many (substandard) new songs from the Life and Death album. To be honest they were boring. I still can’t remember any of the songs from the last album. Maiden need a classic the likes of which we haven’t heard since Fear of the Dark.

great news…new maiden album means..good times.
Iron maiden has never disappointed under ANY lineup, they always rock and they rule.
til the new album..i’ll rock with flight 666 and matter of life and death

After 25 years of following Maiden, I’m waiting with baited breathe for this new release. I’m hoping for something big and bold, like ‘A Matter of Life and Death’. Maiden are always at their best when they’re following their proggier instincts. Fingers crossed for a full-blown concept double!

That news has made my day, can not wait

sorry newty but fear of the dark isint a classic maiden album i’d even goes so far to say that brave new world is a better album fear of the dark only has a hand full of good songs and two great ones be quick and fear of the dark, but the good news is that maiden have a list of classic albums more then anyother band i like so we’re all winners can’t wait till august man !!!!
