Holy Sheet! Floyd Get Special Stamp Treatment
Pink Floyd are to get a special stamp of approval on March 6 – from the Royal Mail.
To mark guitarist David Gilmour’s 64th birthday, the Mail is launching souvenir sheets featuring 10 first-class stamps with the cover for 1994’s The Division Bell. This is presented as a seven-inch record sleeve. The sheet will also have the lyrics to the song High Hopes, plus a Pink Floyd emblem, set against a background of the metal heads from the cover.
The stamp was first made available in January, as part of the Royal Mail’s Album Covers issue.
The Sheet will be available to order from www.royalmail.com/stamps and the Royal Mail eBay shop or by calling Royal Mail Tallents House on 08457 641 641, Priced: £4.75.
There will also be footage of the band playing High Hopes on their website: www.pinkfloyd.co.uk
