Stryper are currently recording an album full of cover versions.
As yet untitled, it’s to be released later in 2010. And among those songs the Christian rockers plan on doing are:
Judas Priest – Breaking The Law
Iron Maiden – The Trooper
Scorpions – Blackout
Ozzy Osbourne – Over The Mountain
Sweet – Set Me Free
Van Halen – On Fire
Deep Purple – Highway Star
Black Sabbath – Heaven And Hell
UFO – Lights Out
Kansas – Carry On Wayward Son

love the tracklisting but it be interesting how stryper will cover black sabbath’s “heaven and hell” lol
cool,i know they aint edgy an dark and self harmin, but ive always liked the band, and thats a good set list there,
They played “Breaking The Law” at their London gig in January. It was great. Stryper are legends.
What, no ‘Highway to Hell?’
This looks like an awesome album! Stryper are an incredible band, but I always thought they should branch out a bit with their lyrics, like they tried on “Against the Law.”
My band Glacier used to cover most of these songs back in the early ’80s, but I’ve never heard another band than us cover “On Fire!”
Nice to see a lack of sappy ballads. I expected them to do a Styx song since Michael Sweet’s voice is so similar to Dennis DeYoung’s.
Covers albums can be a bore (Styx, Tesla, Warrant, etc.), but I can’t wait to hear this one!
No ‘Sympathy for the Devil’?
