Heaven’s Basement Singer Quits
Heaven’s Basement have been forced to change vocalists – just as they’re about to go on a UK tour.
Richie Hevanz has quit the melodic hard rock Brits, being replaced – at least temporarily – by one Johnny Fallen. Here’s what Hevanz has said about his decision:
“After 18 months of amazing highs and amazing experiences, I feel that the lifestyle and constant touring has taken its toll and its time for me to move on to different pastures! In short, guys, I’m afraid I will be stepping down as the lead singer of Heaven’s Basement.
“I want to thank everyone who has supported me through this amazing time in my life. I also want to thank my brothers in HB for their understanding and friendship. I would like to thank all the fans of Heavens Basement for all their love and support over the last two years. You’ve all made my life a brighter place.
“I wish the guys all the luck in the world for their future. Love ya!”
So, who is Johnny Fallen? All’s explained in an HB statement:
“Johnny’s been working hard with us for the past few days on our set, he’s doing a great job at learning the stuff at such sort notice. Learning an hour long headline set in a week is no easy task! Lucky for us his own band theFALLEN (sic) have a break in their schedule so he’s able to stand in for us on the upcoming dates.”
The tour starts in Peterborough at Club Revolution on February 24. For further info, go to www.myspace.com/heavensbasementofficial

was thinking about getting a ticket to a show.. but not anymore
And yet another band name change coming soon no doubt.
Why would they change their name? I’m looking forward to the Peterborough gig.
good band, but I reckon the singer was the weak link, saw em with black stone cherry last year and they were great but not quite mega…good luck boys!
I saw them earlier this year, and was not as impressed with them as i was as roadstar. However they were fantastic for the song where Richie left the stage and johnny rocker took over on vocals. They were f*king mint at that point. Maybe that will be the future for them.
Why don’t they quit? They were tipped as the next big thing once, but it’s obviously not working for them.
Hurricane Party -> Roadstar -> Heaven’s Basement in as many years ! Tipped as the next big thing so many times. They need some solid backing (CR label ?) and a period of stability.
i agree, think Richie was maybe the weak link, the song Johnny did was way better should carry on as a four piece
For people talking about the name changes.
They started as Hurricane Party, but changed after Hurricane Katrina wrecked New Orleans. They were called Roadstar till the guitarist who owned the rights to all the songs and name left. So they became Heaven’s Basement.
Hardly stupid reasons for changing a band name.
And I think Johnny Rocker could become the frontman, if he wants it. I wouldn’t be surprised if one of the reasons for Richie leaving was the band wanting Rocker to perform lead vocals on a few tracks.
Sad news !! Good luck to Richie for the future , he will not be quiet for long , I’m sure. Great voice ! And long live Heavens Basement !!
Yeah its a shame Ritchie has left, looked like they were in for a good year! Im sure this tour will still be awesome tho, I’ve seen the stand in vocalists band theFALLEN a few times and he will have no probs filling Ritchie’s boots, he knows how to rock a stage for sure. If your thinking of going to a HB show and want a taster of his voice you can at http://www.myspace.com/thefallenyork Will be interesting for sure! Gutted for HB tho, hopefully they will move on quickly!
The singer was NOT the weak link , the band as a whole are really not that good , its their tunes that are weak. …ive seen them a handful of times supporting bigger acts, the hype surronding them is , in my opinion , totally unjustifed……better British bands out there with better songs, maybe now the singer has quit they will change that stupid dated image they have…..glam punk in the 2000s?… really boys?
I am absolutely gutted he left.I will definately not be going to the gig anymore!
cant believe what im reading, richie the weak link?? He was the only one with any talent, the rest are distinctly average at what they do. Sorry but i think they are dead in the water. He was their only hope in my opinion.
Just been added by a band on myspace, it’s old Roadstars managers son’s band. I think it sounds very much like Roadstar.

What a shame, such a promising band has lost two members in the past year. Hopefully they’ll regroup with a new singer and continue to work.
Hi all,
I went long to the Wakefield gig on Thursday. The band were great as usual and the stand in singer did an excellent job.
I’m a long time fan of Hurricane Party/Roadstar/HB and was very apprehensive about seeing the band without Richie as he has a very unique voice. TBH, when I first heard the news, I was unsure if the band could even continue without him.
Well, I’m pleased to say that after Thursday’s performance I’ve been totally reassured that there is a future for the band without Richie.
Don’t be put off by the fact that he isn’t going to be there. Get yourselves along to the gigs and show the rest of the guys your support. They have been let down by Richie just as much as the fans have.
i think its stupid to say that a single person makes a band, if you are strong enough to make that comment, then you should go on your own on the stage and see how long you last.
i think that heavens basement will have a change in sound but will never lose their strength and spirit. kkeep on ROCKIN HB!
