Don Dokken has leaked a demo of his acoustic project with Michael Schenker – before his collaborator even got the chance to hear it.

The singer and guitarist have teamed up to work on an album Dokken describes as “not rock – a kind of chill record.”

On the latest edition of the Dropping The Needle podcast, Dokken plays a guitar track by Schenker to which he’s added a vocal line, saying: “I’m actually singing a duet with his solo. It’ll really be a challenge to me: how are we going to write lyrics and melodies over a song that’s just a continuous guitar solo?

“Michael might hate it – he hasn’t heard it yet.”
