Halestorm last night won the 2013 Hard Rock/Metal Grammy for their track Love Bites (So Do I) – beating Iron Maiden, Megadeth Anthrax, Marilyn Manson and Lamb of God to the gong.

Lzzy Hale’s outfit thanked their parents and fellow nominees after being named winners for their track from 2012 album The Strange Case Of… She said: “The song wouldn’t have been possible without these people.”

The revamped single award for rock and metal was handed out ahead of the televised ceremony featuring what are regarded as the mainstream Grammys.

The other nominations in the category were Anthrax’s I’m Alive (Worship Music); Maiden’s Blood Brothers (En Vivo!); Lamb of God’s Ghost Walking (Resolution); Manson’s No Reflection (Born Villain) and Megadeth’s Whose Life Is It Anyways? (Th1rt3en).

The Black Keys scored Best Rock Performance and Best Rock Song for their track Lonely Boy, and Best Rock Album for El Camino. Album of the Year went to Mumford And Sons. Bonnie Rait’s Slipstream was named Best Americana Album, Dr John’s Locked Down was Best Blues Album and Trent Reznor with Atticus Ross received Best Score Soundtrack for The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo.
