I first saw Sparks on TV here in the USA in 1974, I was 15. I bought every album from that day on and their earlier ones too. I still buy every CD when it comes out, some I like and some I don't care for. When I got married I even got my wife to become a huge Sparks fan and we went to see them when they played Boston for the Angst in my pants tour. Small venue and it was loud and great. The albums from when they had the band with the drummer from Devo, David Kendrick was the best music in my opinion. So that Winter after the Angst album came out, me and my wife went to visit my sister who lived in Santa Monica, CA and she brought us to all the tourist traps including the Beverly Center Mall. We're sitting in the food court eating and I looked over my wife's shoulder and Ron, Russell and the whole rest of the band were sitting at the very next table over. Nobody is even acknowledging them being there. Now the story is supposed to go like this: we say high and spend the next hour laughing and joking with them right? Nope, none of the three of us had the "Balls" to go over and talk to them. Balls, all you need are balls. Still sorry to this day that we never went over to to that table. .

BRAVO!
Sparks deserve all the kudos they can get.
I would fly half way around the world to hear them live. Oh wait! I already did - twice.

Well put, Ginger. Sparks'd deserve more recognition like so many, actually. Been listening to them for 35 years. Wildhearts had a good-spirited gig in Ruisrock, Finland. Thanks for that, too.

Fidel! You are back! And you can't write or talk without using expletives!l
When you you feel able, let me know.
I shall introduce you to the band.
They don't, however care for the lack of
communicative skills, which you seem
to be derived of.
You are the ignorant one, Sir!

Another great article by Ginger ... Classic Rock do the decent thing and let him edit an issue !
Though i do disagree with Ginger's thoughts of Gratuitous Sax & Senseless Violins , -When do i get to sing my way - was a classic if a little bit pet shop boys but when you've invented genres like Sparks have your fully entitled to revisit them when ever you want !
