Gig Of The Week: Stone Sour
WHO: Stone Sour
WHERE: Glasgow SECC
WHEN: Tuesday, October 26
The band featuring the Slipknot pair of vocalist Corey Taylor and guitarist Jim Root prepare for a co-headlining tour with Avenged Sevenfold.
“As far as I know, we’ll be flip-flopping with them every night,” says Root of who will be closing the show on the tour. “I guess in London, we’ll be last on for one of the two dates (see below) and they’ll do the other one. Whatever, we’ll probably do about an hour all told.”
With third album Audio Secrecy out and selling strongly, the band (also featuring guitarist Josh Rand, bassist Shawn Economaki and drummer Roy Mayorga) will be playing songs from all of their records in the set.
“We’ll certainly be putting a few new tracks in there. What do I think of the album? It’s OK. But then I’m always like this about our new records. I’m never really satisfied. Only when we play them live do the songs start to take shape the way I want them to. But I’m glad Audio Secrecy is being well received.”
Stone Sour might also be varying their set each night.
“I’m not sure as yet, but we might do that. That depends on how comfortable we feel. We’ve definitely got enough material now to do that. “
