Geezer: I'd Like To Carry On Working With Iommi And Appice

Geezer Butler has revealed that, while Heaven & Hell is over, he hopes to carry on working with both guitarist Tony Iommi and drummer Vinny Appice.

Blabbermouth is reporting that the famed bassist has said of the situation: “Heaven & Hell is finished. It could only ever be with Ronnie I’d still like to carry on withTony and Vinny doing something but it won’t be as Heaven & Hell”.

Butler also refuses to rule out a Black Sabbath reunion, with Ozzy and Bill Ward:  “We’re all talking again so that’s a good sign — I hope. As far as the original band goes, there are so many places we never played that I’d love to visit. Japan for instance. We never ever played there, or so many places in Eastern Europe, or Asia that have opened up since the original band — or since the reunion of the original band”.

Mr. Wright

Sod Ozzy. Give Tony Martin a call. You know it makes sense!

Just stopNOW! Please! Think Queen…….anything for a bit of publicity! Sad!

Great! Get Tony Martin once again and name the band Headless Cross!!

King of Rotten

Jorn did a really good job with Heaven and Hell at High Voltage, they should do some new material with him, under a new band name of course, Dio is irreplacable.

Carpe Jack

I don’t think they should just stop. Iommi, Appice and Geezer have proven they can still write kick ass heavy songs. I think doing a new band with a new singer would be awesome. But not Tony Martin. Not a fan of his era of Sabbath. Phil Anselmo would be awesome!

A tour with Ozzy might be good except that Ozzy just isn’t what he used to be. Would still go and see it though. Not sure an album with him would be up to scratch though.

Well said Mr Wright!
It’s funny isn’t it? When Ronnie first joined (and re-invigorated Sabbath) he was public enemy number one to so many people, but time has proved what a superstar he was and how great his Sabbath albums are. It seems that coming back with the Sabs under the “H&H” banner was a very smart move (even if it was enforced) and enabled the band to be seen and judged on their own merits. If the guys want to carry on working together (and at High Voltage they proved that they are still as tight as a ducks arse musically) then why not? They were and are superb together. Give it a new name and maybe it too will be judged on it’s own merits – and maybe give them the opportunity to try other things with it IF THEY WANT TO. Good luck to you guys, I am sure Ronnie wouldn’t want you to stop just because he is no longer with us.

Ozzy can’t sing and Bill can’t play. Time to do something different.

Spot on Mr. Wright. Sabbath with Tony Martin were criminally underrated. Headless Cross especially was immense. Ozzy is a washed up cabaret act, and has been for years.

Give JORN LANDE a call. He came out so well at High Voltage!

Greg Robbo

Good call about Tony Martin. He’s got a great voice and is more likely to be into writing new music than Ozzy will. It’ll be great to see Ozzy and Sabbath again, but suspect it’ll just be squeezing the drops of the greatest hits. Again.

How about Paul D’Anno? I’d love to se him get a bit of a high profile.

I agree with Carpe Jack..

Phil Anselmo all the way!!!

Give Jorn Lande or Tony Martin a call. I know Dio was a fan of Jorn, so I think he shud lovd it.

promotions girl

If you give Tony Martin a call you will be playing half filled church halls and gettig prooters canncelling gigs for no ticket sales, just how it was in the 90’s.

Get an unknown instead

Coverdale

does anyone suspect Tony Martin and Don Dokken could be the same person? ;)

Duane H.

Have Glenn Hughes sing with sab.under a new name.I LOVE ya oz,but think that is over outside of a farewell (1) show.Long Live Rock and Roll and the spirit of R.J.D.!!

I’ve only recently started listening to Sabbath and would love the chance to see Sabbath with Ozzy. I realise this wont be classic Sabbath in it’s prime but it’s the best I’ll ever get so I’ll take it!

i think to call ozzy a washed up cabaret act is a bit harsh.ok he only seem to be going through the motions over the last few years, but i think if a sab reunion was on the cards he would and could step upto the mark but rather than a greatest hits tour i think a new album is needed.having said that anything new from tony and geezer would be awesome.

monkeyman

I’ll do it!

TULIO FUZATO

Hey Mr. Buttler ….. come on to Play in Rio – Brazil ….

Master Hare

Hang on. Are we sure Butler or Iommi can’t sing? The “Phil Collins” route could be less painful for them than getting a new singer in (even an ‘old’ one). Geezer writes lyrics, so am betting his voice is decent. Better than Ozzy’s or Paul Di’Anno’s (sp.?), one imagines.

For those of you calling Ozzy washed-out, let me tell you something… I got to go to his Itunes gig here in London a couple of months ago and he hasn’t sound any better since the early 90’s or so … That was only a warmup show for the world tour so his voice was very fresh … with that said I have to confess I was impressed.

LE BLUE

fuck fuzzy osbourne, he’s just sharon’s puppet.i think it’s time that mr. iommi (who keep the flame in black sabbath for so many years) tell ozzy to fuck off.call tony martin.

Gorilla

Ozzy was still screeching well live at the Sabbath reunion a few years back – and the atmosphere was bleedin electric – that would definitely be my first choice (if Sharon lets him out to play). Tony Martin era Sabbath produced some great songs (e.g. Headless Cross) but, for me he doesn’t have the epic feel when I saw them live (whatever the hell that means). To be honest though, I just hope they do get someone, cos hearing Iommi’s monstrous riffs live makes me piss my pants!!!!! BRING IT ON!!!!!!!!!
P.S. Just thought of something else – Geezer should tour with his solo stuff (Plastic Planet / Black Science era) – and he should play live in my front room. He kicks rock ass, etc etc.

promotions girl

It has to be Ozzy (shame)

Or else it’s The Crickets Chirping Tour all over again

F*ck Tony Martin!
Worst Sabbath singer…ever!

Give Jorn Lande a call. He did a great job at High Voltage. He is the man :-)

Eric Wagner formerly of Trouble. That would fucking own.
