Gary Moore Ready To Rock Sweden

Gary Moore is to play Sweden Rock as well as Classic Rock’s High Voltage festival this year.

What’s more, the guitarist will perform a hard rock set at both events, concentrating on his albums from the 1980s and also Thin Lizzy songs. No blues at all.

Sweden Rock happens from June 9-12 at Solvesborg.

This is great news. I’d really like to hear all those eighties classics again: after the war, over the hills and far way, run for cover, murder in the skies, end of the world, out in the fields… Hopefully, he will bring his hardrock set to the rest of Europe as well.

I wonder who will be part of his band: Bob Daisley on bass, Neil Carter on keyboards… Maybe Eric Singer on drums.

This is a bit of a 180 isn’t it? He has said in the – releatively recent – past that he has moved on from what he did before SGTB. Worse, I seem to recall that he was rather disparaging about his past and about his peers that continue to do the heavy rock thing.

I guess it doesn’t matter, but your cred is much higher if you stick by these strongly worded views! Better to say less (better still, embrace your past) and leave your options open!

Still, whatever he does I hope it sounds great because he is one of the best guitar players ever in my opinion.

Wild Frontier is one of my fav albums.Although I respect his blues stuff I’m delighted he’s rocking again!

I recon it will be Ginger Baker on drums ;-)

So Mr Moore has finally remembered about the music with which he made his name and no doubt an awful lot of money.
What a pity he decided slag off the genre when he found his ‘real’ musical self.
His brand of blues not paying any more now there’s a few more new kids on the block ?

I don´t know anything about the new kids on the block but for those of us who listened to Gary back in the 80´s this is really good news !
Can´t wait to hear the new album and while i´m waiting I´ll listen to some of the great blues albums Gary Moore have done !

We all say things we (perhaps) shouldn’t, so let’s forget about what’s gone before and be glad Gary Moore is going to play a rock set (hopefully with a great band behind him).

I think this is going to make a lot of people very happy. I just hope Gary enjoys it as much as we will.
