Freddie Mercury Named Britain’s Top ‘Tache
…But the rock world is shocked to the core as Steve ‘Dobby’ Dawson, Morgan Fisher and Roger Earl fail to make the Top 10.
According to Mirror.co.uk, Queen legend Freddie Mercury has topped the charts again – as the owner of Britain’s favourite moustache.
The Queen frontman’s flamboyant facial hair beat John Cleese’s Basil Fawlty in a poll for Remington’s cancer charity campaign, Tacheback.
The Top 10 includes:
1. Freddie Mercury
2. John Cleese
3. Lord Kitchener
4. Charlie Chaplin
5. David Seaman
6. Bruce Forsyth
7. Terry Thomas
8. Peter Sellers
9. Des Lynam
10. Daley Thompson
We here at Classic Rock are totally distraught by these results, as three legendary ‘titans of the ‘tache’ – Saxon’s legendary ex-bassist Steve ‘Dobby’ Dawson, Morgan Fisher of Mott The Hoople fame and Foghat’s drummer Roger Earl – have been completely ignored.
Just take a gander at the photos below and we think you’ll agree the above list is a complete and utter travesty.
Half man, half walrus: Roger Earl.

Not bad, considering Fred only grew the thing to stop all those Esther Rantzen jokes.
Wot no Topny Iommi – surely the best tach of the 70’s
i want one just like it
we should all grow one
Woohoo!!!! Freddie’s freaky moustache strikes again! I also read that he grew it because the skin above his lip was growing tighter or something.
