FM Explore Their Wildside Ahead Of Firefest
FM, who headline the sixth annual Firefest at Nottingham Rock City on October 24, are to release an eight-song EP called Wildside in time for the event.
Backed by a selection of live tracks and the oft-performed but only recently recorded studio cut Dangerous, Wildside is a taster of the UK-based band’s comeback disc, Metropolis.
Described by the band as “a slice of pure classic ‘in your face’ rock”, Wildside will be available as a download in October via iTunes (the exact date to be revealed at www.fmofficial.com shortly). It will also be on sale at the Firefest.
The EP is completed by six songs recorded live at the band’s intimate Winstanley College show, a performance which introduced their new guitarist Jim Kirkpatrick as replacement for the departed Andy Barnett. The live material is as follows: The Dream That Died, Hard Day In Hell, American Girls, I Belong To The Night, Other Side Of Midnight and Bad Luck.
FM (pictured above) are joined at the Firefest by Honeymoon Suite, Crown Of Thorns, White Sister, the reunited Romeo’s Daughter, Drive, She Said, The Poodles and Airrace. As an addendum to the main event, Treat, Bad Habit, H.E.A.T., Eclipse and Lost Weekend will all appear at Nottingham’s Trent University Students Union on the night before, Friday 23 October.
