Fans Tell Wishbone Ash: Release A Single!

mdome / News / 19/11/2009 17:38pm

Wishbone Ash fans want the band to release a single.

In fact, some diehards have gone so far as to form a Facebook group, to try and get the band to do this very thing in 2010.

Quite why they’re desperate for a single from a band who have never been profilic in the singles market is another question. Maybe they wanna see them appear on the National Lottery Show?

However, if you feel inclined join the ‘We Want Wishbone Ash to Release a New Single’ group, go here.

Oh dear. Is this going to generate an unseemly play-off between the two versions of the band? Blur v Oasis all over again?

Lets make it happen, folks!

It’s been 20 years – far too long, in my opinion.

Join the group on Facebook.

Don’t have a problem with the Andy Powell Band releasing a single. Good luck to them. If they get Lady GaGa to sing it they might actually have some success – otherwise …

Why would genuine WA fans want this tribute/legacy/karaoke (according to Classic Rock live DVD review) band to release a single in this day and age? Could it be that singles are outselling albums once more and TAPB need the cash? Or they just fancy being on Top of the Pops (sadly no chance)…

However, it would be nice just this once if they released it as what it is – Andy Powell & Chums … NOT Wishbone Ash!!!

No Martin, No Ted, No Steve, No Laurie = No Wishbone Ash

End of …

A single? I’m sure that top 40 fans everywhere will be eagerly awaiting it.
All they need is a singer. And a competent song writer wouldn’t hurt either.

Stick to the pubs boys. Or the county fairs.
