Frontman Chapman says: “This is something that I’ve considered, and been constantly asked about, over the years. It’s always been a question of timing.

“2013 marks the 40th year since we did our last show. We ain’t getting any younger.”

Family were formed in 1966 and played their final show at Leicester Polytechnic on October 13, 1973. releasing seven albums in that time. Over that relatively short period 11 musicians passed through their ranks, including future Asia frontman John Wetton.

Chapman’s “electric goat” vocals were an influence on Ian Anderson and Peter Gabriel amongst others. The frontman went on to form Streetwalker with John ‘Charlie’ Whitney.
