Faces Ready To Tour In 2010 – But Without Rod
The Faces are planning a tour next year – but without Rod Stewart.
Talking to Billboard, keyboard player Ian McLagan confirmed that he, drummer Kenney Jones and guitarist Ronnie Wood were prepared to go on the road next year sans Rod The Mod, who’s locked into a solo tour.
“If we don’t do it very soon, one of us is gonna check out. We’ve been waiting and waiting for Rod to say yes; now he’s finally said no. He’s busy doing other shit. So we’re gonna do it.”
The trio did get back together for a charity show at London’s Royal Albert Hall last month, being joined on stage by different singers, including Simply Red’s Mick Hucknall (see our report here).
And the band hope Hucknall will be involved in some capacity in 2010!
As for the bassist, former Stones man Bill Wyman guested at the Albert Hall show, but Sex Pistols’ Glen Matlock is likely to be the man for the tour.
