Download Festival 2014: first headliner confirmed
Avenged Sevenfold have been confirmed as the first of three headline acts for next year’s Download festival.
And Rob Zombie has also been confirmed for the main stage first-night bill.
The Donington Park extravaganza will take place on June 13-15, 2014, with the usual long list of dozens of big-name rock and metal acts, rising stars and other attractions besides.
A7X, who recently released sixth album Hail To The King, will round off proceedings on Friday, June 13 – and it’s their first-ever UK festival headline appearance.
Producers Live Nation say: “Over the course of the last 14 years, Avenged Sevenfold have grown to be one of the biggest names in heavy music. Consistently releasing groundbreaking, genre-defying music, they’ve written some of the best and most acclaimed rock albums of the 21st century.
“Their breathtaking live shows have garnered an unshakeable reputation. Download history is sure to be made when they take their rightful place as UK festival headliners for the first time on the hallowed turf of Donington Park.”
Many more artists are to be confirmed in due course.
Tickets for Download 2014 are available at £10 less than this year’s prices until November 8 via http://www.downloadfestival.co.uk/ – weekend arena ticket £150; weekend arena ticket and three-night camping £175; weekend arena ticket and five-night camping £185.
