The Doors and Janis Joplin will both have records inducted into the Grammy Hall Of Fame next year.
Riders On The Storm, the iconic 1971 single from the former, and Joplin’s 1970 album Pearl are among 25 new inductees, all of which will be officially added to the Hall Of Fame during the 52nd annual Grammy Awards on January 31.
Other artists with selections include The Isley Brothers, Bo Diddley, Judy Garland, Gene Kelly, Mahalia Jackson, Harry James & His Orchestra, Johnny Mercer, Jelly Roll Morton, and the Nitty Gritty Dirt Band. Classic rockers all!
The Hall Of Fame was established in 1973, ‘to honour recordings of lasting qualitative or historical significance that are at least 25 years old’.
