Dave Grohl Working On Secret Documentary…And Comedy Series
Dave Grohl is currently filming an audio documentary at the studio where Nirvana recorded Nevermind.
This is Sound City in Van Nuys, California. Grohl is getting various musicians who’ve worked there in the past to come in and record new songs, using the same equipment.
Although the details are being kept under wraps, Classic Rock understands that so far those involved in the sessions include Cheap Trick’s Rick Nielsen, the Ratt duo of Stephen Pearcy and Warren De Martini, plus Kevin Cronin of REO Speedwagon and Corey Taylor from Slipknot.
In other Grohl news, he’s executive producer of a new American sitcom series.
It’s being written by comedian Dana Gould for the FX channel, and is about a band who got into therapy to prevent them from breaking up. Hey, that brings to mind a certain Metallica documentary!
