Darkness ‘offered megabucks’ to reunite

The Darkness are considering re-forming for a new album and tour, according to a report in The Sun newspaper this morning.
Here’s what they had to say:
Spandex catsuits could be making a comeback because The Darkness are on the verge of reuniting.
The mock rockers have been offered ‘a small fortune’ to hit the road again and are now considering the deal.
They shot to fame in 2003 then split just three years later, torn apart by lead singer Justin Hawkwins’ drug problems and bitter internal feuds.
But now the US entrepreneur behind the Dubai Desert Rock festival has offered the boys megabucks for a huge American tour in 2009 – and a new album.
An insider said: “The offer is tabled and being studied by everyone.”

i loved the darkness but i hope it doesn’t happen.
the stone gods are a much better band, and on their 2nd album the darkness got too cheesy with the keyboards n even more high pitched singing, but permission 2 land wos a classic album!! jst let it be, no need 2 reunite.

This is ridiculous. No one cares, or at least no one SHOULD care. To reunite after things went wrong only 2 years ago and their second album flopped? Come on.
The bassist was sacked, the drummer is ill, but it`s in the sun so it must be true.

I’d like to see The Darkness reform, but can you trust The Sun newspaper?
This joke is’nt funny anymore, first record was pretty good, but second album was terrible.

Dont be stupid boys let go of the past and forget the
Darkness. The Stone Gods are far better musically, even if they aren’t as marketable.
Quite liked the Darkness, have to be honest though neither The Stone Gods or Hot Leg have impressed me.
However if it did happen which bassist would they use?
Stone Gods are the best new UK band since Thunder (in my opinion!)
So everyone has been sucked into the media hype around the Stone Gods. Baaaaa. Heard the CD, seen them live twice and I still think they are warmed over nonsense. The first time I saw them I thought they were about to play a cover version 3 times, one of which was “Bareback” by The Darkness; rehashing their own riffs! Richie Edwards is a completely one-dimensional vocalist. Dreadful! Hot Leg… the jury is still out till the CD surfaces. For me, I’ll take the Darkness anyday, rather than put up with Stone Gods for one minute longer.
The Darkness were remarkable but the bigger they got the worse they got. Some people have no sense of humour so not everyone liked them. I guess they were never “hip” either so that rules out a lot of people liking them!
