I doubt Coldplay ever even heard of Satriani. This is a coincidence and it’s only surprising these things don’t crop up more often.

Some French bird called Alicee wrote that song way back, there are some similarities bewtween Coldplay and Joes tracks but Joe’s is just a complete rip off of her’s.
There is a song on Airbournes album that is note for note, Judas Priest’s “You got another thing comin”

Having heard both songs on an NPR radio special…neither contain a very original melody. I bet I can find a few hundred show-tunes with the same melody.
