Classic Rock Presents Prog Editor Jerry Ewing tells all about issue number 2 of our magazine about all things prog!

Issue 2 of Classic Rock Presents Prog hits the streets in the UK today. Bearing in mind issue 1 sold out, we’ve increased the print run of the new issue as well as having increased the amount of stock being held at www.myfavouritemagazines.co.uk, so hopefully some of you won’t experience the difficulty finding the new issue as you did with the launch.

Issue 2 comes with the wallet featuring, as you can see from the image, Muse, The Mars Volta and Radiohead, with Mike Oldfield, Van der Graaf Generator and King Crimson looking on. All are interviewed in the new issue, along with Dream Theater, Dave Stewart, IQ and snooker legend Steve Davis, who lets us have a peek at his record collection. And of course there’s the results of your votes for The Top 50 Prog Albums of All Time, which makes for fascinating reading and will no doubt spark wild debate amongst you prog fans.

Couldn’t get the first edition because it sould out, and thas acceptable… but now i can’t get the second because myfavouritemagazines.co.uk won’t deliver outside the UK, and that’s just sad, to say the least.

Bought my copy today and was very impressed by this months content. It made me want to buy all the albums advertised through the whole magazine.

Been to http://www.myfavouritemagazines.co.uk – no sign of it.

Not sold out in just eight hours?

I clicked on the link: http://www.myfavouritemagazines.co.uk
but I can’t find the magazine listed there.

As a dedicated and enthusiastic fan of HAKEN, so glad to see them on the CD. Thanks.

You can find it on MyFavouriteMagazines by clicking on the regular Classic Rock magazine, then scrolling down to the “Specials relating to this magazine” section and there it is.

However, only ships to UK and Europe, so no shipping to America. Damn, this has to be the hardest magazine to get…ever!

So frustrating…

Come on now, I have been a loyal subscriber and paying a small fortune for Classic Rock Maganze for many years here in the USA. I really look forward to each issue. Prog is my thing and I always go straight to articles and reviews for Prog music when the magazine comes in. I really want the new magazine dedicated to Prog but to be left out in the cold after my years of loyalty to Classic Rock is very frustrating. Where’s your customer service? Do you care about loyal subscriber’s?

Just got Issue2 it was fantastic ,just what i expected. I missed out on issue1 which was more the pity. The cd i played straight away and there was not a duff track . All brilliant , cant wait for 3rd issue.

Thanks for that Julio – what a STUPID set up. IS someone determined NOT to see this magazine sell? Price, availability and now hiding it on the online sales page? If Jerry wasn’t paranoid he’d every right to be now!

The price is too much for this magazine. Especially when they said it’s a “free” CD.

Other than that, I’m finding them pretty entertaining. Though I didn’t like the top 50. Was incredibly boring and depressing. Seems like it was voted by half-hearted prog fans.

Makes you think, do we really lack good prog rock bands when this top 50 includes so many repetitions of the same band ^^! I think I counted 6 genesis albums, 3 porcupine tree (there not that good!). The rest consisted of a lot of rush, yes, marillion and pink floyd. As expected I surpose :S

What on earth is going on with the distribution of this magazine? In fact does it actually exist at all? I couldn’t find issue 1 anywhere and this week I haven’t been able to find issue 2 either. If you want people to buy something then you have to make it available surely? I am totally infuriated to be honest and it makes me want to just forget about even trying to buy it in future, especially as I don’t see any kind of proper response from you regarding all the similar complaints. Get your act together.

I’m a U.S. reader and panicked at first and bought issue 1 on eBay UK for about $22 in late-April and then watched it show up at my local Borders (in the L.A. area) about a week later, so I felt like a sucker. At any rate, if you live by a Borders, start checking it (or call them) once a week probably starting in June and you can hopefully get a copy of issue 2 sometime during next month. Good luck everyone!

You should find some copies of the magazine on ebay, which should be available in all countries.

Clearly someone doesn’t want this magazine to succeed – ordered mine direct this time on 22nd May, still waiting. I know it says allow 28 days but hell they could have walked it from Bath to Bristol by now…

Like some of the comments above. I really struggled to get a copy of issue 2. Anyway, I eventually found a shop in Washington stocked with several copies. Better CD than issue 1, some great stuff. The content as ever is excellent. It’s great to see so many new bands. I love all the 70s stuff but I read all about that in the 70’s, 80’s, 90’s etc… Thanks for supporting such great new music.
