Bruce Dickinson Rejects Reality TV Judging Role
Bruce Dickinson has apparently turned down the chance to be a judge on the UK version of TV singing competition The Voice.
According to The Sun, the BBC asked the Iron Maiden frontman to join the panel for a programme they hope will rival The X Factor.
However, the Iron Maiden singer said:
“That show sounds so crap and demeaning to everyone involved, I took great delight in turning the BBC down. The X Factor is appalling enough, it’s no better than Opportunity Knocks.”
The Voice has already been a big success in the US. Its twist is that the judges face away from the auditioning singers during blind auditions. In this way they remain unbiased with regard to each singer’s image – and/or wince-inducing ugliness.
