The Damned legend Brian James has teamed up with Simple Minds keyboard player Mark Taylor in new band Brian James Grand Cru. The pair release an album  titled Chateau Brian on May 7, and it’s very rootsy and acoustic in nature, as James himself explains:

“This album came together organically a result of jamming with Mark. An acoustic album is something I have had in mind for some time, but I am glad it’s taken this long to come to fruition. It means my voice has matured, I’ve evolved as a person – it really feels like the right time. This album is blues, it’s folk… the only common theme is purity of sound.”
