Black Crowes back from hiatus

The Black Crowes have ended their indefinite hiatus and will hit the road in March with a tour that starts with five UK shows.

They’ll take in Manchester, Birmingham, Glasgow and London before returning to the US for a chain of 21 shows kicking off in New York and ending in New Orleans.

In 2010 frontman Chris Robinson said the southern rock giants weren’t taking time away for negative reasons, like they had when they split in 2002.

He told Billboard: “The real story is it’s been five solid years of touring and three records and DVDs, and it’s more about having a little bit of space and taking a breath away from the thing.

“I think everyone’s in a good space, and our hiatus is for nothing but health reasons, mental and physical, and to have the freedom to do some projects with other people, raise the kids and stuff like that.”

Saying he didn’t know how long the Crowes would be away, he added: “We’ll get back together when we feel it’s right. There’s no end or beginning – it’s, ‘Let’s just do some other stuff for a while.’”
