Black Country Forced To Change Name

Black Country are no more. But fear not, Glenn Hughes’ new band aren’t splitting up, just changing their name.

Hughes (vocals/bass), Joe Bonamassa (guitar), Derek Sherinian (keyboards) and Jason Bonham (drums) have to choose a new name, because there’s already band called Black Country.

Bonamassa told Undercover: “It (the name) jumped out of the gun. It got leaked inadvertently and it has spread like wildfire. It wasn’t anybody’s fault, it just got leaked. Somebody overheard a conversation. The definition of overhearing a conversation is putting it online and acting if it’s fact.”

If I recall correctly, wasn’t it Jason Bonham who first brought up the Black Country name in an interview with Spinner.com? That’s where the name came from online. Hardly an overheard conversation.

Still looking forward to this band no matter what the name is! Bonamassa rocks!!!

How about “Bath”? Nah, that would suck…
