Bjork To Be New Led Zep Vocalist?

admin / News / 02/04/2009 14:42pm

In a classic piece of April foolery, Icelandic nutter Bjork announced that she is to become the new singer of Led Zeppelin.

Yesterday the diminutive warbler announced via her website that she had been offered, and accepted the position of vocalist, as Led Zep’s world tour plans were “in turmoil”.

The group have been looking for a singer to allegedly tour and record with, since Plant announced last year that he had no intentions or rejoining the band, preferring to concentrate on his work with Allison Krauss.

Bjork also claimed that she had taken the role on the proviso that the group only perform songs from their first four albums, in particular: ‘Dazed and Confused’, ‘Black Mountainside’ and, of course, ‘Stairway to Heaven’

Hat’s off to Bjork then for yesterdays most imaginative, and oddly plausible April fool.

I would actually welcome that, she has a natural jazz and blues voice.
