Bachman-Turner Overdrive Sued By… Bachman-Turner Overdrive
Randy Bachman and Fred Turner are being sued by their former bandmates in Bachman-Turner Overdrive.
Both Robin Bachman (Randy’s brother) and Blair Thornton are taking action, as a result of Randy Bachman recently trademarking the name Bachman-Turner Union, which they reckon is in preparation for a reunion tour, without them.
The trouble is that Randy Bachman and Fred Turner, despite being the leaders of BTO, handed over the rights to the original name to the other two when the band split up in the late 70s.
Now, Robin Bachman and Blair Thornton want their former bandmates prevented from even using a variation on the BTO name… oh, and they’re after some money as well.
Rumours that Bachman and Turner are planning to record a song called You Ain’t Sued Nothing Yet remain unconfirmed.
