I have seen Aerosmith 13 times since the 1983, "Rock in a hard place album" I write down all there songs they play, have every ticket stub, every program, a collectoin that would make any real AEROHEAD, ENVIOUS, BUT WITHOUT MR, TYLER, IT WOULD NOT BE AEROSMITH, THEY WOULD HAVE TO BREAK UP AND RETIRE, IT WOULD BREAK MY HEART, HAVE BEEN MY FAVORITE BAND SINCE I WAS 12, IM 43 NOW, GOD BLESS THEM.

Overall, I think that if Steven Tyler is gone, Aerosmith is no longer Aersmith. Look at bands like Skid Row. I know that they have been on the road and they are slightly making an impact, but without Sebastian Bach, it's not the same. Now, just because bands change members, doesn't mean that they won't manage to maintain their success--if they were bands that you would listen to 97X (Tampa) or something like that, but Aerosmith? That's like replacing Rob Halford. Even though it's possible, and it's been done before, Judas Priest is Rob Halford...just like Steve Tyler is Aerosmith!

Some words from a classic rock bizz vet:

1) Steve Tyler is suffering from a disease called drug addiction. The rehab/slip cycle is the usual routine. If he doesn't get into Narcotics Anonymous, he won't make it. The 12 Step programs have a 60% recovery rate--if people keep going to meetings. That's the highest survival rate of ANY rehab, clinic, treatment center, etc. When an addict thinks he's all better after rehab, he's already heading for the downhill slide.

2) It's highly unlikely Tyler has been mourning Cyrinda Foxe's death, which was many years ago. He treated her like crap, and made her life miserable for years afterward. She was no angel, and their druggie dance was sick, but that was no reason for him to be shitty about supporting his daughters. Liv Tyler is not his only child.

3) "Brand Tyler"? If he goes into the fashion business, sure. People will buy clothes that look like his. Whether or not that's a good thing isn't my call. Other than that-- puhleeze!

4) There is no Aerosmith without Tyler.

5) The "Toxic Twins" label refers to back when Tyler and Perry were both a mess from heroin, and tanked the band the first time. The band roared back when everyone got clean and sober, and Perry has managed to stay out of trouble so far, but maybe it's about time to say goodnight, folks.

5) Drug addiction ain't glamorous or cool, folks. Nor is it easy to stop...and no one's ever cured; they just have a one-day-at-a-time stay of execution.
Drowning in vomit? Heart attack in your 20s? Suicide with a shot to the head? Beating up your girlfriend? Yeah, real glamorous.

Rained on your parade? Just adding a dose of reality here.

The end of Aerosmith isn't the end of the world.
