Aerosmith Reveal How They Got Back With Tyler
Aerosmith bassist Tom Hamilton has lifted the lid on how the band resolved their recent differences with Steven Tyler.
As has been well documented, the band claimed Tyler was no longer a member and that they were looking for a new frontman.
Tyler hit back by insisting he was still in Aerosmith, and things reached a crisis point when the singer’s manager, Skip Miller, threatened to sue the band if they tried to carry on without him.
Talking to the Boston Herald, Hamilton revealed there was a meeting of all parties concerned:
“There was management there. [We were] all lawyered up. There was a lot of sort of reconciling and processing feelings and stuff. Everyone said how they wanted things to be in the future and it became clear that, for everybody, the coolest thing to do would be to resolve things with the band. The phone was ringing. People wanted to see the band. We finally realised, even with all the BS flying around, that there was a beautiful thing right there if we had enough sense to grab it”.
Aerosmith, of course, headline the final day of the Download Festival at Donngton on June 13. They then headline the O2 Arena in London two days later.
