AC/DC Confirm Euro Outdoor Shows For 2010
AC/DC have announced a series of major European gigs for next year.
The dates run from May 16 to June 22, with gigs confirmed in Romania, Italy, Austria, Germany and France. You can bet on more being added, with at least one UK show.
Classic Rock understands that the UK date is likely to be at an established festival rather than a one-off stadium show. An official announcement will be made on January 30.
The website of Classic Rock’s sister magazine, Metal Hammer, has more here. (Check out Hammer’s blink-and-you’ll-miss-it screen-grab from AC/DC’s own website!)
Classic Rock has also heard that the band are planning to play their classic Back In Black album in its entirety – 2010 being the 30th anniversary of its release.

Considering this is around the time of DOWNLOAD, and its the anniversary of MONSTERS OF ROCK at donnington, it will surely be DOWNLOAD they play at?
They’re going to play the entirety of Back in Black? They just about do that anyway. I know it’s a good album, but please don’t forget the rest of your catalogue.
They seem to have completely ignored the 10 years Phil wasn’t in the band. With the exception of Thunderstruck, they play nothing from this period. Please get at least Who Made Who and Heatseeker back in the set.
Would they play Download though seeing as they already have a date penciled in in Germany on the 13th June, the Sunday of the festival? Can’t see them playing on consecutive days as they haven’t done so on the other dates of the Black Ice tour and the just announced European dates suggest this is still the case.
Well said Tris. Can I be the only person who would love to see some lost 80’s material in the set – Flick Of The Switch, Guns For Hire, Bedlam In Belgium, Fly On The Wall, Shake Your Foundations, Sink The Pink, Who Made Who, That’s The Way I Wanna Rock N’ Roll, Heatseeker. These are ALL classics! I don’t care if the critics don’t agree!
They’re playing the Friday night at Download. The date was on the AC/DC website last night, but has been removed because there’s no fan club ticket pre-sale. It’s all over the Download website forums, and the Download Festival organisers have posted on there saying it’s true. Glad I’ve already got my ticket – will sell out quickly now.
OVERATED BAND! VERY POLISHED SOUND (R.M. LANGE)! DVD’S ARE PERFECTED IN THE STUDIO MORE THAN KISS ALIVE! THEY ARE NOT SO GOOD LIVE! THEY HAVE THE SAME RECORD COMPANY AS SUSAN BOYLE (THE OLD LADY) AND SOLD AS MUCH CD’S IN US & UK (OVER THE TOP MARKETING)!!! MAIDEN-SABBATH-KISS ARE 10 TIMES BETTER L I V E !
AC/DC are the best!
I totally agree Euan.
Would love to hear Rising Power / This House is on Fire / Flick of the Switch.
A criminally under rated album
Tris and Euan are right. In the current setlist, apart from the songs from Back in Black and Black Ice, they play two songs from the Brian Johnson era – For Those About to Rock and Thunderstruck. And these two songs have been played to death on their previous tours, I might add. I’d rather they played an entire concert full of lost Brian era tracks rather than the entire Back in Black album.
AC/DC are great however i don’t think that they’ll confirm download and even if they do there better festivals out there now. High Voltage looks amazing so far if Glastonbury confirms some of the rumored acts they have they’ll way better as well. However i hope the ppl at Download sign AC/DC and Van Halen cause that is defo worth to see. On to the other matter they’ll better off playing no more then 3-5 songs from the Johnson era as Bon Scott was the idea and the power behind the band. Fair enought Black Ice rocks , but it will never be as good as High Voltage , Highway to Hell , T.N.T ect lets face it the only album that is worth the big recognition that it gets with Brian on vocals is Bank in Black and then again there are rumors that the material was for Bon Scott.
P.S i’m a real long fan on AC/DC and i love every bit they’ve done , but i defo would prefer to hear them play there old stuff (with Scott) rather then some lost not as good songs from Brian era.
AC/DC has proven time and time again that they are better than The Beatles
