Japandroids get it together in the country before tour mayhem ensures
Canada’s Japandroids (not to be confused with Japan’s Canadadroids) are heading over to the UK for a tour in October.
Track: Japandroids – The House That Heaven Built
File under: swing that wrecking ball
The House That Heaven Built is taken from Japandroids’ most recent full-length Celebration Rock, which came out in June.
The album has been described as a mix between punk and classic rock, with a wide range of influences including The Replacements, The Who, Bruce Springsteen, Tom Petty and The Hold Steady.
Dave Prowse (he’s Japandroids’ drummer/vocalist, not to be confused with the Green Cross Code/Star Wars guy) has also cited Guns N’ Roses’ Appetite for Destruction as an influence.
The band have got the following dates lined up:
Oct 26 London Heaven
Oct 27 Manchester Sound Control
Oct 29 Sheffield The Harley
Oct 30 Birmingham Hare & Hounds
If the tour is anything like the scenes in the video below, some outta control times await. Make sure you watch the clip right to the end when a potentially worrying situation is redeemed by the question: “How much do you love Japandroids?” And the response: “I love them.” Let’s be careful out there.
