Video: The Deafening make your head spin

Puppy love: The Deafening’s Lena Hall prior to a bout of extreme demonic possession

From the Big Apple, we bring you the splendidly named The Deafening.

Ever imagined what a hard rockin’ version of Katy Perry would sound like? You have? Then you simply must check out the mad-eyed antics of Lena Hall, frontgal of The Deafening, in this here video. There’s a distinct Exorcist influence and splatterings of vomit to contend with too. (“I kissed a ghoul and I liked it,” you could say…)

Death Rattle ‘N’ Roll comes from the band’s debut full-length Central Booking, which can be purchased via thedeafening.bandcamp.com/album/central-booking and through iTunes.

The Deafening describe themselves as a “bad-ass, female-fronted, New York City-based rock band” and are inspired by the likes of Guns N’ Roses, The MC5, Iggy Pop, Kiss, the Rolling Stones, AC/DC, Queen and The Misfits.

They mix glam, horror, punk, blues and sleaze rock through big guitar stacks – which sounds pretty much a perfect recipe to us. Check them out below.
