The name Nubian Rose will be new to most of you but we reckon it’ll be one you’ll be hearing an awful lot of in the coming months.

Thanks to their debut album, Mountain, this female-fronted band, led by Ethiopia-born Sofia Lilja, have fast attracted the attention of the world’s melodic hard rock connoisseurs.

Nubian Rose’s album was recorded at Gig Studios in Stockholm under the watchful eye of Tobias Lindell (Hardcore Superstar, Europe, etc). Initially released independently, it’s now available all over Europe via
Funklord Dynasty Records/Music Buy Mail.

Oh yeah, and in case you were wondering, the band’s name is derived from the ancient kingdom of Nubia. (The Rose part is a nod toward frontgal Sofia, apparently.)
