Video: Mean Creek ladle on the nostalgia, Springsteen style

Mean Creek: or should that be Mean Geek?

Boston-based Mean Creek have released the music video for their new single, Young & Wild. Check it out below – and grab a free download of the song.

Track: Mean Creek – Young & Wild

File under: this song has been described as “combining the grandeur of Springsteen with the rebellion of The Replacements”. We wouldn’t go quite that far, but it is a damn good, nostalgia-laced offering all the same

Young & Wild is a song about the connections you have with people growing up, how they leave a permanent mark on your life and help shape you into the man or woman you are to become,” says Mean Creek frontman Chris Keene, adding: “It’s a song about not letting go of that feeling the older you get, to always keep searching for those magical moments, and those special people that inspire your life and keep you going.”

Which is all well and good, but after taking a look at the video we reckon we’ve seen more bad behaviour on a wet January afternoon in Skegness. Still, if stealing ice-cream cones and rubbing lipstick on the faces of sleeping people is deemed ‘young and wild’ on the mean streets of Massachusetts, who are we to argue?

Young & Wild comes from Mean Creek’s upcoming new album Youth Companion, which will be released through Old Flame Records on October 16.
