Classic Rock is proud to premiere the video for Lynyrd Skynyrd’s track Homegrown, taken from 2012 album Last Of A Dyin’ Breed. View it below.
The band were special guests at the Classic Rock Roll Of Honour ceremony earlier this month, where they received the Comeback Award and played a 30-minute set.
Sole remaining founding member Gary Rossington says there’s still plenty of life in the band that regrouped in 1987, ten years after the disastrous plane crash that all but wiped them out.
“We love doing the old songs,” Rossington tells Dispatch.com. “It still feels great to play the music and pay tribute to those guys who are gone now, –whether they died in the crash or later on. That’s why I’m sticking around.”
But he continues: “We’re creative, and we’re still songwriters, so we like to write new stuff a lot. We can’t help it. I still feel young in my head. I feel like I’m in my 20s, and I love playing and being on the road and that whole thing. When we have new music I’m proud of it.”
