Top songs: Rival Sons claim No.1 spot in our latest Tracks Of the Week poll
2. Little Caesar – American Dream Released this past spring, American Dream is Little Caesar’s fourth full-length studio album and the follow-up to 2009′s reunion fandango Redemption, which gained a release in the UK on the Grind That Axe label (a subsidiary of Rock Candy). While clearly produced on a tight budget, the title-track clip encapsulates perfectly the cynical sentiments of the veteran Los Angeles band’s lyrics. The vid is a hard-bitten paean to a “sweet land of lust and greed” and is full of images of cop violence, teen obesity, carefree war-mongering, the Twin Towers collapsing and… Ted Nugent?!
3. Dokken – Empire Dokken have unveiled their video for Empire, the lead track from their 11th studio album Broken Bones. Don Dokken recently told Noisecreep he’d taken the DIY route on recording for the first time, saying: “I live up in the mountains and I have no neighbours – it’s great because I don’t bother anyone that way. I have a guest house that we turned into our recording studio. Broken Bones is the first album recorded there. I’ve heard a lot of albums in the past few years where I can immediately tell they were made on Pro Tools. This new record doesn’t feel like that. I kept some analogue stuff for my studio – I totally believe in the old equipment.”
