Heavy metal icon Ross The Boss is back with a new band, Death Dealer. Hear three sample clips of their debut album Warmaster below.

The Manowar co-founder describes the new music as “a mighty combination of five very talented, seasoned musicians” and insists he’s stayed close to his classic feel.

It marks a reunion with Manowar drummer Kenny ‘Rhino’ Earl. Death Dealer are rounded out by singer Sean Peck (Cage), guitarist Stu Marshall (Udo Dirkschneider, Steve Grimmett) and bassist Mike Davis (Halford, Lizzy Borden).

But if Judas Priest guitarist KK Downing hadn’t retired from performing in 2011, Ross The Boss might not have got the gig.

He explains: “After they sent the first tune over I was blown away. Stu and Sean tell me they want me to join the band. I say, ‘Who else is in?’ They say, ‘Rhino on drums.’ I’m in.

“Stu goes, ‘It was either you or we would have asked KK Downing to be on guitar.’ Wow!”
