Music: Rival Sons - Face Of Light

Track: Rival Sons – Face Of Light
File Under: “How many Ewoks died for that coat?” (Alexander Milas, Metal Hammer)

LA’s Rival Sons formed in 2008, but it wasn’t until last year that they turned up the heat, with a free EP given away in Classic Rock, a deal with Earache and a blistering new album in Pressure & Time. They played the main stage at 2011’s High Voltage festival – but it was their later slot on the Metal Hammer stage that really impressed. Great vocals, a killer rhythm section and muscular guitar playing combine to make them the missing link between Free and Kings Of Leon.

Nominated in the Best New Band category for last year’s Classic Rock awards, they narrowly lost out to Vintage Trouble. Can they reap revenge this week as both bands go head to head for the popular vote in Tracks Of The Week?
