Queen teamed up with Adam Lambert on Saturday (June 30) for a charity concert in Kiev, Ukraine. Below, you can watch a two-hour video of the whole show. Warning: it’s not for the faint-hearted…
Queen/Lambert will play Moscow tomorrow (July 3) and follow that up with three shows at London’s Hammersmith Apollo (July 11, 12 and 14).
The Antiquet website has already called the weekend’s Kiev show ‘horrifying… Lambert’s voice gets so shrill you’d swear you’re listening to a bird and a cat fucking. In a blender.’
To us, the show reaches its nadir after just 30 minutes, when Lambert asks if there are any fat-bottomed girls in the audience, without the merest hint of irony. (“Who has a fat bottom? I want to see some fat asses tonight! Come on, this is rock’n'roll, let me see some ass!” Puh-lease…)
We tell ya, it comes as a blessed relief when Roger Taylor takes centre stage to sing A Kind Of Magic and These Are The Days Of Our Lives, before the focus falls on Brian May for Love Of My Life and ’39.
