Boz bemoans his lack of modern-day quiffage in this still from the video
Boz Boorer is most known for his work founding the new-wave rockabilly group, The Polecats.
Track: Boz Boorer – Slippery Forces
File under: a grease-laden goodie (just like Boz’s old Polecats quiff)
Boorer also works as a co-writer, guitarist and musical director with Morrissey. He (Boorer that is, not Mozzer) has a a side-career as a solo artist and recently put out his fourth album Some Of The Parts. Slippery Forces, the rather splendid first single from it, has a cool, cynical, Kinks-style vibe.
This video is pretty cool too, what with its use of Boz lookalikes and everything. And make sure you check out the false ending. (“Wake up, you dozy bastard”? Yeah, we’ve all been there…)
