Music: New clip from ‘total assault teen rock machine’ Cherri Bomb

Teenage rampage: Cherri Bomb

“When I first played the electric guitar, it felt like a lightning bolt.” So says Julia Pierce, lead singer and guitarist of LA-based all-girl rockers Cherri Bomb.  “I was instantly struck by the idea of starting a band.  And so my search began.”

Track: Cherri Bomb – Spin

File under: The Bangles with extra added BANG!

Pierce formed Cherri Bomb in 2006, when she was just 11 years old. The rest of the members are guitarist Miranda Miller, bassist Rena Lovelis and drummer Nia Lovelis (Rena’s elder sister). The girls are currently 14 to 16 years old.

Cherri Bomb have toured with Smashing Pumpkins at the request of Billy Corgan, played last year’s Reading and Leeds festivals, and recently signed with Hollywood Records. They will perform at London’s Alexandra Palace on November 10 as part of the Vans Warped Tour 2012.

Cherri Bomb’s debut album, This Is The End Of Control, is out now.
