Music: Diehard Dolls, purveyors of flat-out, face-melting Aussie rock
Australian rockers the Diehard Dolls describe their music as “fair dinkum rock’n'roll”. They also feature one of the most maniacal frontmen we’ve seen in a long time – name of Lukey, big and burly of frame, and sporting an unlikely set of dreadlocks.
Track: Diehard Dolls – Finish What You Started
File under: AC/DC go super-sized… and then some
The Diehard Dolls hail from the belly of the underground Melbourne rock scene.
Guitarist Kromy says: “We aim to bypass the brain and hit the crotch.” Lukey the singer adds: “…With a big bad babe and a bottle of scotch.”
Lazza the drummer sums up the band’s music thus: “Power rock, solid rock foundation, explosive constructive emotionally mixed sounds with brilliant lyrical imagination with colourful indeepth [sic] mind-bending meaning, leaving you in a transformotion [sic] off into another universe.”
Hmm… we dunno about that, although we do love the lyric: “We’re gonna kick, we’re gonna punch, we’re gonna cut up your lunch.”
Oh yeah, and on stage the DDs have been known to wear supersuits of chainmail and spandex. Just so you know.
