Music: Cool ridin’ with New York’s Sex Slaves
Born out of the gutter and raised on a deserted street corner in the Lower East Side of New York City, Sex Slaves’ butt-ugly brand of hard rock is infused with punk, sleaze and insanely catchy hooks. Check out the new video to their song Cool Ride.
Track: Sex Slaves – Cool Ride
File under: the perfect anthem to an all-night binge of booze, cigarettes, cheap sex and re-runs of George & Mildred on the TV (well, maybe not the last one)
Sex Slaves, we hear, are ‘a living, breathing war machine’. They have independently performed over 1,000 live shows in 13 countries, and counting… all without a major label’s tour-support dollars, or corporate sponsorship.
The band proudly proclaim: ‘There hasn’t been one slimy dive in this whole wretched world that hasn’t been given a sleaze-pop makeover, and a hefty dose of sass by these three street-walkin’ cheetahs.’
Just to check, we contacted Eric Ooze, owner of the Slimy Dive rock club in Gasworks Road, Huddersfield, who said:
“I can confirm Sex Slaves gave my venue a makeover, and I’m particularly pleased with the subtle pastel hues and pretty Laura Ashley wallpaper. They’re so much better than that street-walkin’ cheetah Laurence Llewelyn-Bowen I had in the other week.”
So there you have it.
Filmed on location in various European countries, the band’s latest music video (to accompany the first single from their album Call Of The Wild) was shot by fast-rising photographer Johnny Richie and edited by bassist Del Cheetah.
Grab the wheel of your Dodgem and get hip to the Sex Slaves’ rhythm… we’re in for a very hairy ride.
Bonus: if you go here you can also grab a free download of Sex Slaves’ song Sssssay What?
