Music: Blaze Bayley guests on Chris Declercq’s big-balled new anthem

Twice as mean: Chris'n'Blaze

Los Angeles-based guitarist Chris Declercq has issued A Miracle Away, his collaboration with vocalist Blaze ‘Iron Maiden/Wolfsbane’ Bayley.

Track: Chris Declercq – A Miracle Away (featuring Blaze Bayley)

File under: sprawling, big-balled ballad, and a country mile away from the raucous rabble-rousing of Wolfsbane, por ejemplo

Written, arranged and produced by Declercq who handles both guitars and bass, the song also features long-time Iron Maiden live keyboardist Michael Kenney and drummer David Moreno (Bruce Dickinson, Tribe Of Gypsies, Puddle Of Mudd).

Basic tracks were recorded at Moreno’s studio in Granada Hills, California before Declercq travelled to Birmingham to meet up with Blaze Bayley for the vocal sessions. (And whaddya know, Blaze’s performance is pretty damn fine, ain’t it?!)

A Miracle Away, which is available on iTunes, Amazon and other digital outlets, was mixed by Roy Z (Judas Priest, Bruce Dickinson, Halford) and mastered by Dr Who’s Tom Baker (only kidding, this guy’s actually worked Motley Crue, Alice Cooper and Rob Zombie). A music video for the song is currently in production.
