Metallica have released a teaser trailer for their upcoming live DVD, Quebec Magnetic. View it below.

The double-disc movie was shot in Canada during October 2009 and will hit shelves on December 10 (December 7 in Germany, December 11 in North America), featuring an 18-song live set plus eight bonus tracks.

It’s the band’s first-ever self-released product and they say they’ve set a “very Metallica fan-friendly price” of $15.98.

Guitarist Kirk Hammett recently said: “We played two really phenomenal shows. They were just outrageously great and the audience was great. We had people filming it, and we felt we were really doing a disservice just sitting on this great footage, so we put it out.”

Former Metallica bassist Jason Newsted recently announced his full return to public action after admitting it took him 12 years to “come back to earth” following his departure from the band.
