Video: Loverboy back to break hearts

Loverboy

Loverboy went back to their roots in more than one way when they finally hit the studio to record latest album Rock’n'Roll Revival.

The record features recent live recordings of the Canadian outfit’s classic tracks, along with three new songs, two of which were produced by now-well-known producer Bob Rock. The band have released a video for one of those, Heartbreaker – view it below.

Rock manned the desk for Loverboy’s 1980 self-titled debut and returned for four later albums before rising to the ranks of Metallica, Motley Crue and the Cult.

But his trip back in time gave him the perfect excuse to catch up with old friends – and take a welcome break from working with pop star Michael Buble.

Rock’n'Roll Revival was released last month. Guitarist Paul Dean says: “Working with  Bob was very easy and natural. And the new track Rock’n'Roll Revival brought Mike Reno and me back to our collaborative spirit of the 80s. The classic hits on the album are reflective of the evolution in 30 years of playing them live.”
