Ginger Wildheart fans know he’s always seeking new musical directions – but with the video below he’s clearly aiming to shock. Viewer discretion is advised for the promo for Gruntwhore, the track by Ginger Wildheart’s Mutation.
Recording lineup for the song included Scott Lee Andrews (Exit International) and Tom Spencer (The Loyalties, The Yo-Yos) on vocals; Ginger, Rich Jones (Black Halos, Amen) and Jase Edwards (Wolfsbane) on guitars, Spencer and Dom Lawson (Oaf) on bass and Dean Pearson (Young Legionnaire) on drums.
The video took two days to shoot in director Jeremy Belinfante’s garage. He says: “It’s been a long process to get this out. Pre-production started in February 2011 and the footage was shot in May 2011.
“The track was finally mixed and mastered in October this year. I edited the clip over the last two months in the sparse moments of spare time I’ve had between other jobs and projects.
“The clip is indebted to all the people who worked on it — cast and crew — who gave their time, effort and put their questions about the subject matter aside to help bring this twisted scenario and these ridiculous characters to life.”
In November Ginger was given an award at the Classic Rock Roll of Honour ceremony for his pledge campaign activities, which helped fund the Mutation release.
